Time flies and recess week's here!
The week's been pretty cool, getting to know new ppl, back at the track running. Thanks to Rod and frens for running company to finish my intervals!
Quizzes were 'let's not talk abt it'. Surprisingly my elective one 17/20. Many mcq guesses were uh guessed right thank goodness haha. But my aa205 one I hit slightly below the average score (of last year's 4.5) and scored a 4 :( But considering I really had NO confidence in any of my answers it's quite amazing.
Hall closing was pretty cool and decided to stay for the entire thing cuz this is gonna be my last IHG thing :(
Okay so today I clicked on the 'accept' button. And if I choose not to go, that'll be $300 down the drain. I think I'll go though. I need to get out of Singapore for awhile.
But it's pretty sad to think it's my last calendar year here in NTU. And the last sem seeing all those ppl going away next sem, like lols, suechee, xr etc! who to jio to go for runs and swims mann!
SWIMFEST 2009 :)
It was actually pretty cool. Met Sue and frens and Yanni at 8pm at Hall 3 and we walked over to shop at Hall 2's mart to shop before heading to the pool and realising there's no such dinner and so had to wait till 9+ before the hall 2 peeps bought food from can2 over.
We chopped like many many of the suntanning seats. (Which actually felt quite gross and oily)
10pm-7am, total number of laps clocked. 16 teams! They had this big countdown timer starting from 9hrs.
So we hung and chilled around till 11am when Kappo 1 changed shift, and it was my turn to swim for Kappo 2! When I started swimming, the thought tt ran thru my mind was 'how cool swimmers are' haha. We have tons of fun in between, but when it comes down to it, it's each individual person tt has to swim. No one else will do it for u. At the end, after all the playing, the work still has to be done, and we do it each to our best :)
Kappo 1 was our dearest family member, and hardcore coolest swim team, all out to win the imaginary tv. (*chuckles) Kappo 1's strategy was 100m all the way in shifts. Our strategy was first we go 1.5km/30mins each. So I swam from 11-1130, and then 1130-1230 was sue and huimin. 1230-130 started daryl and kimhock's shift, and we, the girls did 130-2.45.
So it was just nice that our shifts coincided so had Yanni for company mostly throughout from Kappo 1. After our first swim, we went into the badminton hall at 1230 and I decided it was such a nice warm place and after I splatted myself onto the mat I refused to get up again and stayed there till we had to go at 1+ to get into the pool by 1.30.
So from 1.30-2.45, sue, huimin and me did 200m sets for sometime before deciding 100m was better. Cuz u didnt need to sit there and wait for so long. The first lap into the water is always the worse, cuz somehow feel a little chill in ur bones and nose keep getting blocked (cold I guess).
2.45-3.45 was rest time, swam 3.45-5 again. 5-6 rest time, 6-7 all 5 of us swam! It's pretty morale boosting to swim in our lane since our lane partner was some old ppl team swimming breastroke for like 1hr+ straight. Super amazing tho.
Lane 4 was our Kappo 1 and NUS lifeguards. Life was more exciting there haha! Mostly when swimming, practised on turns and push offs and dolphin kicks and proper stroke pulling (average 41 there 46 back) and trying to overtake when I see ppl, and trying not to be overtaken too badly by lane 4 ppl haha.
Some pretty amazing small boy in lane 3. Small cute little girl in lane 8. The bi team's fatty frogs in lane 7. Had visitors like valmond lance and bekky!
At 6am+, we took our timings and I did a 1.37! :) Considering I was swimming like THAT mostly throughout I was quite happy. But anyway it's not that bad since you have alot of rest. Unlike our poor Kappo 1 friends, choinging hard. They're mAd.... Every 2hrs there was an update on the laps. Water sapiens caught up after 2hrs or so, but afterward xr n sl went into overdrive and the gap was pulled to 20laps gap as for 6am! THEN they started doing 100m IM. Hilarious. Even Marty did it! Oh yeah, I've to say, when Marty entered the pool, they asked 'which team do u belong to?' and he replied 'the winning team' haha. So funny.
So YAY, our dearest Kappo 1 won! With a total of 786 laps! :) Rod Sl Xr Marty and Yanni! Kappo 2 did not bad, we came in 5th (out of 16) with a total of 628 laps! Kim Hock, Daryl, Sue, Huimin n me :)
They were nice and shared their $200 taka voucher among all of us, so we got $20 in the end, to cover our registration cost haha. The sun rose very fast!
I hope I didnt kill Rod's tiger's heartbeat! But I seriously didn't feel anything!
It was all in all, VERY fun :) And I'm happy I did it. I got a nice cool shirt, good company, and a most enjoyable time of my life. Won't be around next year to do it anymore :(
I'm glad :)
Came back to hall, did laundry and stuffs till i KO-ed at 1030am and woke up at 1130 to continue packing stuffs and KO-ed on the ride home. Mis-set my alarm n so only woke up when mom said "your student's here!" taught one and KO-ed again for the nxt 2hrs+
Time to sleep again! Really not sure why the others were like so tired and all cuz I was still alive and kicking.

Sis and me's jelly making experience

Gingerbread man plaster! For my poor blistered toe before I went for a run

The nicest dessert ever eaten, at Bakerzin. Actually, I think I'll just find chocolate syrup, sliced almonds, get my own ice cream and ta-da! Save $8.80 and can have more servings.
