Yes, Scott's use of the word "surreal" sure is right. I've been counting down to tomorrow for the past 9 months.
The weather has turned cold! It's gonna be like 3 or 4 when I head to school tmr. Glad that it's cold actually. Because I'm going back to warmth and so, cold is good because I wouldn't get it anymore and because it reminds me how it makes me FAT and I don't exactly like it!
I'm so excited for the events lined up over the next few days till I leave!
I MISS WENNIE SO MUCH I CAN'T BELIEVE I GET TO SEE HIM IN 11 DAYS IT'S STILL SO FAR AWAY!!!!!!!
More often than not, I still feel unsure of what I'm doing here.
But then I guess it means something that when I think about starting work at YST all I feel is excitement, as compared to when I was going to start work at EY, all I felt was dread and that my life was going to be over.
Pianos pianos pianos. As much as I like working on them, I think I will take a break from them when I'm home for a while!
Oh so near yet so far! Two more days of school left but we've ALL tuned out. Mentally GONE!
Now the things I want to do when I'm back home include:
1. Spending ALL MY TIME WITH WENNIE
2. Riding both bikes (Wilier and Beep)
3. Swimming outdoors!
4. Running with friends
5. Eating local food - wanton mee, ban mian, hokkien mee, hor fun, oat prawns, sambal kang kong, fish soup, yong tau foo, carrot cake.......
6. Eating Singapore Macs and KFC.
7. Eating more local food
As excited as I am to play and work on both pianos, I think I need a break from pianos for a while! And I'd like to do the visiting piano shops thing again. And to find Betty a piano!
I can't wait to have a life again! 5 days left of London!
From 38 weeks, it's now down to ONE.
I am so ready to pack my bags and go home.
The days have been fun though.
New room mates call for interesting situations!
I went to a pub in London for the first time on Monday and was introduced to ice hockey and vintage coins.
Going to my second pub next week to hang out with the room mates. Say what?
School has been quiet and empty - I like that's for sure!
Except that the friend I need to meet hasn't been passing by so... too bad!
Long daylight times are lovely.
Short days in the shop are awesome.
Motivation in the shop has been going down down down because this week is just regulation, which is a must to get ready for next week's voicing but still a drag.
Just FOUR more days of school! :)
And so early this morning, funny how Don drove in just as I cycled in just as Steve cycled in!
A chicken coop was constructed this morning in the power tool room of the piano shop!
So I swam for the first time in 5 months. I did manage to last an hour! It's amazing how I didn't lose the water feel. Except that my arms are soooo weak! Not surprising though... HMMMMmmm
So, we made B&J milkshakes a couple days ago! Best thing on earth!
HAND BLENDERS
And I learnt how to use an ax to chop wood. It's fun-nily addictive!
And we went to watch Texas' play which was good but a tad long...
Now, before I leave here, I need to drive a car.
Listening to a whole bunch of oldies on youtube because of my piano book.
Makes me think of the road trips I've had here
Listening to Elvis Presley while driving to Detroit
And the many songs on Texas' playlist - I like! For close to 40 hours?
I will miss Canada! Oh no!
As much as I want to go home, the nice weather and new found friendships are making me a tad sad to leave.
Sometimes it gets a little blurry why I'm here, with an empty bank balance and an empty heart and still having to keep pushing on to learn and to do it better.
But, if I have the time AND energy, after a tuning, if I sit and play on a nice piano (not room 354) I get reminded of why I did this.
The sound of a piano can be EXTREMELY beautiful.
It sure is fun! Except that when the wire not only pokes you (first) but then, SLICES your thumb a few hours later! That's not fun....... I wrapped it up and haven't taken a look yet. Ignorance is... bliss?
Anyway seems like today is the last nice day. Weather seems to be turning wet and cold the next couple of days. I will miss the nice afternoon lunchies outside!
My gut feeling is a scary thing! It IS freaky!
Except that it could've gone a million different ways BUT that!
Aiyo!
And he sings again........................................
It's weirdly unexplainable.
I see now why it's said that a leopard will never change its spots!
Tomorrow is another day
Drifting in the big blue sea...
Further and further?
The grass cutter was out! Does that mean the dandelions will be gone by tomorrow? But I want to see them turn white!
In the meanwhile, work has been put on hold because decisions have to be made by the client and so, I've been free all afternoon!
It's another day tomorrow! :)
20 more days of Canada
What if you only had those three letters?
Growing up, is a strange business
Apparently so!
Nice sunny days means nice sunny lunches outside.
Lovely weather, wish it'll last.
A wave and a smile goes a long way!
Crash and burn though.................................
And so today I climbed into my piano at last! It's awkward! It'll be more fun in a big piano like Texas' rather than in our little baby!
I can't wait to start stringing because that means home beckons.
But I do have some unfinished business before I leave!!!
Let's just see how things go shall we.
So icebergs are meant for us to climb up on?
And being silly is just what happens all the time?
And and and.................
Well, Monday started off well with me finding $30 on the driveway just right outside the music building in the morning.
But there are some days when I'm so silly, even I'm appalled at how silly I can be!
Aiyo!
Stop being so silly already!
I think London missed spring. One moment it was winter, the next it was summer.
Long days are great. It's bright at 6am and still bright at 8pm.
Like a topsy turvy jumbly gumbly.
Some things are weird, but sometimes opportunities only come once and if they slip, it's gone.
Coincidence or? Silly silly.
I'm leaving in 24 days!
