And so today marks the end of yet another season; 4 races; the month of March!
Truthfully? Today's race wasn't as bad as I thought it would be! Perhaps hearing how Angie wasn't here today really released the pressure before the race!
No race evaluation for me but just, hmmm, reflections! hehe so here goes:
I really don't know what I was doing during the swim! Seriously.... It was an all-over-the-place swim. Not good! Run was pretty okay. The hills weren't THAT bad. The drinks station sadly only had SIS when I wanted W-A-T-E-R! The gap between Sumiko and me kept staying abt the same and I didn't quite care to push the extra bit really! Till she got nearer at the steps and Marcus cheered to run faster and since she didn't seem to be speeding up? Okay, why not? So all in all, it wasn't tough at all! And I actually enjoyed it! :) The end!
What I've gotten over these 4 races, is to get real experienced in pre-race preparation the night before! Haha. 3 consecutive weeks left me feeling "again?" last night.
And most importantly, I REALLY enjoyed it all! And I've come to realise that I've grown to LOVE this sport I'm doing a LOT A LOT. And because of that, I am HAPPY! Also, not forgetting, graduation from Monster School! :)
Oh, AND a whole load of race pics on FB!
Many thanks goes to thE SISTER! And Mr. J! For all the constant support <3
The race ended at 9am and prize presentation was at noon and so guess what we did in 3hrs?
Nothing much really.
Walked around a little. Talked a little. Took some pics. Stoned a little. Ate PBBs. Collected goodie bag. Bathed. Entertained ourselves with Pam + Zj's mini "relay"! Collected 3 medals of the same colour today. Somehow diminishes their value no? But yes, some are valued more than the other :)
Headed to Bugis via MRT from Buona Vista for lunch at MOF! I didn't get my mocha coffee gelato in the end :( We didn't want to follow the rest to idunnowhere to eat Chinese dessert so, Lyanna, Michel and me, led by Leewei went to Shaw Tower (new sunset try-out spot!) to find Tom's Palette only to find out they're closed on Sundays! Aghast? YES! The craving for ice cream led us a junction away to Andersen's at Suntec. Ahhhhhhhh, iceeeeeeeeee creammmmmmmmmm :)
4 happy smiles!
Then to City Hall MRT to NEL home.
Then home and trained all the way back to NTU.
Dead tired? Yes, very!
And somehow I feel like I've trasversed the MRT line back and forth back and forth today!
All in all, I feel pretty accomplished this season and Glory to God for giving success to His Child! :)
And to the sister for yet another win! (As expected as Mok's) And a amazing 3rd to the SLEEPY+tired+training bike Jambion! :)
I am so blessed to know of / have so many monsters in my life!
And because I somehow wake up so early STILL, I shall SLEEP EARLY! Too much lack of sleep!
(bytheway Michel sleeps at 9PM EVERYDAY!!!!!!!!!)
IT IS 10PM! Bedtime folks!
Have a great week ahead!
RECOVERY WOOOHOOOOO :)
Yet another week has gone by! I think this sem I'm really majoring in being a triathlete, minoring in Jiwen, and taking one module of studying!
The counter has restarted after hitting the current max of 16 days! :) :)
And so, recovery week! It's the best out of the three! (Training, Taper, Recovery) Easy swim, easy run, easy ride, easy everything! Recover, rejuvenate, rediscover, the love, for it all hehe :)
Oh I'm the most blessed girl on earth wouldn't you say! How often do ppl get BOTH of Singapore's fastest for riding company! :) That was yesterday! And we baked COOKIES! Which ended up in the stomachs of MANY ppl! (mostly mine though wooops!) YUMMY yes? (Who stole the cookie from the cookie pot?) Sorry Jiwen! For them being so few left when the box went back to you!
Yesterday was also the first time I went for a hall event this academic year! Okay, make that 2nd (if you count block supper) Now, reason being, it was International Food Fest! Notice the link? Free food = my attendance. It was pretty funny. Leewei and me were just loitering at the food area for when they start to let us eat. Everything else was boring anyway. So Leewei kidded to the others "hey line up! The queue!" and guess what, a queue REALLY formed behind us! Leading all the way to the canteen! Hehehe. Good food, good company, good atmosphere, good to see familiar faces after sucha long while! So.............. all in all, I'll miss hall. Memories of times in my first year with the roomie! :)
Today I did 4 things. Eat, sleep, swim, run.
Sleep, eat breakfast, sleep, swim, eat lunch, sleep, run, eat dinner, gonna sleep.
I was sooooo lazy that altho I told Michel I'll be at the pool Friday morning I only reached at 11.30am! And met him on his way out! HAHA. Oops! I was pretty irritated in the pool today. I HATE it when the pool is totally empty but some weird person has to swim RIGHT NEXT TO ME....... urghhhhhh..... switching lanes and stopwatches in the middle of 50m sets is no fun.
Went to NUS and did a mini run / jog / walk WITH the NUS Biathlon 2010 brochure map in my hand as guidance. And am convinced Sunday is REALLY then D-DAY! *gulp. Are you sure it's a biathlon 5km run race? Not a climbing race?
Then, I had the company of my most favourite of the male species for dinner at West Coast! :) :) :) :) :)
Today I showered in NUS using Dove shampoo and somehow I can still smell the shampoo now. And it brings me STRAIGHT back to the June holidays and trainings at ACJC pool. (Cuz I used the small bottle same shampoo! And just like how this particular shokobutsu shower foam reminds me of trainings at SRC followed by Astro lectures) I do miss those days. Of hardcore breaststroking. And somehow I think of Yanni and SueChee. Of walking to and from Buona Vista MRT. Of seeing those little ppl from APSC train. Of breathtaking sunsets over the water. Of having free rides home by those who drive.
I will miss uni life!
All the emo band songs...

I miss band. Do you?

So, the dreaded day has come and gone and I'm left with a BIG BRIGHT YELLOW SMILEY smiling back at me as I type this :)
FIRSTLY, thank God for this amazing race season thus far. One more to go, just one more which I'm gonna be taking it easy! Thank God for no jellyfishes! (fishii? fish?) Thank God for no punctures!
And so, it was a pretty cool experience in all. We were lined up behind the elites cuz flag-off was 2mins after. REALLY cool to see them all up close in their gear and waiting for the horn to sound. And SOOooo cool to see them run off and jump in! The swim was fine with me getting a little lost towards the end haha.
The bike was okay on the first round. Except when you exit ECP you immediately hit that first upslope and the legs felt SOOOOoo bad. SO tight you can't imagine! The U-turn was nearer than it seemed. So it was mostly just Keppel Flyover which I've done before! The best part, is drafting the lorries! And going down on the drops, squeezing into a tiny teenyyyy ball on every downhill. And so it was pretty consistent, 30mins there for 15km. Again, always cool to see the pros zoom by!
Then on the second U-turn at Keppel, I retardedly crashed into the barrier while turning. My turns are usually pretty wide as they are already. But with the wheels, not quite so used to them. And so I was out for a few minutes. Thank goodness for the ppl who fished up my bike and fixed it up in a matter of a few minutes and I was on my way again! A little down though. The slopes killed. Really killed.
Ate SIS gels for the first time. Orange! REALLY GOOD STUFF BY THE WAY! Better than PowerBars and PowerGels I believe! (Sorry Jiwen!)
So I started off one of the first few cyclists out (women's wave went first see) and came back one of the last few! (don't worry Marcus I know how you feel!) Thank goodness for Jiwen saying "your helmet" if not I'd probably have ran off WITH my helmet HAHA.
The weather was pretty good till the last bike loop. The run route was pretty okay! Into this secret bridge place! Didn't know F1 pit is so near ECP! More like a "Y" instead of a "H" I would say! The looping added more fun and cheer cuz u see all your friends! I love the COLD sponges! COLD 100 plus, WATERRRRRRR.....
It wasn't till I removed the shades to wipe the water (from the pouring of cups) from the eyes that I realise how HOT it was! And then pop the shades back on immediately.
The whole world went by me on the bike leg. And I went by the whole world on the run leg! Revenge in place hahahahaha. The run was the highlight of the race for me actually. I think I could've gone on for more and a bit! The legs felt like they were going so good. SIS orange gels? The pace was good and all I was thinking was "I'll do just fine as long as God keeps the legs turning" which He did so ALL GLORY TO GOD!
1st for my cat (which only consists of Angela and me bytheway. Every one else disappeared/withdrew/didnt come) 24th female overall! And that's inclusive of the 8 elite females. 2nd / 3rd Singaporean! And to me, that's pretty cool oh yeah, seeing as how I'm actually the youngest female competitor hehehe. (Information courtesy of "Race Statistics" in the handbook) 27th for the swim, dropped to 60+++ position for the cycle, and the run left me 11th! After the elites, Trudy Fawcett and another angmoh. Now, AIN'T THAT COOL! Hehehehhehe.
The run, is SOOOoo impt! The gap u can pull on the swim and bike is only this much. Okay, my cycling needs MUCH MORE work. Can the ProfessionalS coach me please!
The best feeling on earth, is immediately after crossing the finishing line, and the subsequent few hours!
I think I do like doing this. This distance doesn't feel TOOOoo bad. I know I can improve! And so within a matter of a few hours, I parted with 500bucks for a round 2 of a 70.3, this time, in FLORIDA! Ahhhhh :)
I like the race atmosphere, everyone being so friendly! I like how our first names are printed on the tags where ppl can call your name to cheer for you. At the massage tent while waiting they were really nice! Nice to know Trudy Fawcett remembers me! They were saying how I went "VROOOM" by on the run! They spoke to me about my Nike shoes? And just being friendly and kidding around in general! Pretty fun hehe :)
IMMENSE thanks goes to THE SISTER! For monster school lessons. For helping with the bikes and all! For cheering me there! For the POWERFUL OAKLEYS and SIS GELS! And for the accompanying bf shooting pics with the bright neon green iphone.
And then there's my happy squirrel, where the words "thank you" doesn't quite come close to what I feel. For being there the WHOLE way since early in the morning. Seeing me at transition, cheering for me on the bike (altho I didn't see at all haha), being there during the run, and most of all, waiting for me after the race! So patiently, helping me with the bike stuffs, making me my make-shift aviva bag (hehe), going here and there with me, holding my bike while I ate, and EVERYTHING :)
Then, MANY THANKS to all fellow competitors being so encouraging throughout the entire race! Rod, Marcus, Sumiko, Mark! And then Jon ma, Josh, Norman, JJ, Angela! Really good to see them again and again looping round and round with the encouraging words, smiles, thumb ups, claps :)
AND to Junyang too, and the MANY other ppl! Sorry that most of the time I didn't see/heed (especially on the bike leg, concentrating!) But all encouragement and cheers are so welcoming! To those friends of friends who were there, THANK YOU. To the volunteers handing out water and marshalling, THANK YOU. To the random ppl by the roadside, cheering for FEMALES, cheering for #41, cheering for NTU (hahhahaha!), cheering for me, THANK YOU :)
Last but not least, LEEWEI! For coming down to capture a few pics! Despite it being his first free weekend! :)
It was a good race, $375 well spent I would say!
And so I heard I'm in the newspapers for the SECOND TIME in 2 weeks! Apparently this one got me much attention from friends who sms-ed congratulations which I found not so deserving because well, what say you about the competition? But at least, I got it with a faster timing than last year's :) Well, personally I felt last week's Singapore Bi 2nd placing was a much greater achievement!
And so the rest of the day was spent out and about, driving around the place, dropping at the Jambion's house. (I'm sure he'll park way better than me! HAHA)
Right now? I'm feeling bruised all over still. (THank goodness no abrasions though!) A little achey from doing my longest race as yet: 5hrs33mins47s. Sitting VERY HAPPY in a nice clean room with nice clean sheets. And with the mind thinking about a particular someone hehe.
Okay I've got a confession to make: I finished up the entire cup of (not nice) grapes while blogging this and waiting for Mr. Boyfriend to reach home! (Which he did more than a while ago)
So......... goodnight my friends! It feels pretty strange, to suddenly have so much time! Projects mostly in, presentations almost all done, no trainings, oooooo..... that means.... MORE J TIME! :)
Some. Times.
sigh.
Trying my best, but when you're tired, you slip.
And when there's no one there to hold you up, you fall.
I haven't quite been okay for the past few days I must say.
Long day today. Slept close to 1am and woke up a few times in between.
Got up at 7+ to head to school which ended at 12noon.
By the time we edited our Old Chang Kee report, printed and submitted it was 1.30pm.
Swam a quick swim in 1hr.
Rushed home and could not do the run because bro came so late.
Headed down to ECP at 5+ for race pack collection and dinner.
And so we've taken our pre-race pic with the NUS and NTU ppl.
All the travelling around here and there.
I really dislike.
Only managed to reach home at 9pm, with all the crawling buses.
And then could only sit home at 9.45pm.
Walking home, I just felt so drained with no energy to entertain, no energy to smile, no energy to pretend it's all alright, no energy to think if it's alright, no energy to put up that front that I'm always carrying on.
I think I'm just plain TIRED.
And counting the hours of sleep I've been surviving on, and all the stuffs that had to be settled here and there, and the hours I've been travelling through, okay, plain, bad, tired.
Sigh, sorry.
And right now I've no energy to entertain ppl teasing me on MSN.
Enough already.
The thought of Sunday is making the stomach churn.
I don't feel too good or prepared.
I just wish it's over already.
On a slightly happier note, the presentation is over (it was hmmmmmmm quite bad! We were reduced to, 3 ppl.......), OCK is sent in, left PharMor on Tuesday, ethical reasoning assignment and corporate governance presentation then it's the exams! And a very screwed me.
TWO WEEKS have flown by since the Jambion came back!
For the record, today's the ELEVENTH day!! :)
TWO WEEKS since recess week is over and well, I've ponned a total of 5 classes these past 2 weeks..... Though it's for a whole mix of different reasons, OOPS!
Last week was taper week and not so friendly a conversation with a certain person they call "coach". It still plays on my mind occassionally and it leaves a bad taste although really, why should I care? :)
Singapore Biathlon 2010, yes, ALL GLORY to God!
(There! Does it matter what my training is like? So you think you know so much better? Tsk!)
Thanks really to CAPTAIN OH! For allaying my fears and worries early in the wee hours of the morning about registration. And for the visor (however you spell it) which I've YET to take from leewei STILL!
And then there's Mr. Boyfriend, for popping up at random places, for giving encouragement, for helping me hold my stuffs, for warming down with me, for accompanying me after the race, for cycling to the faraway car to take my stuffs, for being there the whole way, for caring :) thank YOU :)
And of course THE SISTER! For the training programmes, for stuffing fruits down my face, for all the help although I always panick and get into a bad mood because I feel so helpless, for being there always!
And so, A DREAM COME TRUE!
Last year I was thinking, 8mins; 6 positions, so near yet so far. It's amazing how God can make a way, when there seems to be no way! I thought it so impossible!
For the first time it's me in the winner's tent. For the first time it's me up there on the stage! For the first time it's MY NAME in the NEWSPAPER hehhehehe :)
A great weekend it has been. After Sing Bi, headed to Sizzler's for Buffet #1! THANKS TO THE SISTER! Then the Jambion helped to change the gear cable which was done sooooooo fast! Island creamery after church! THANK to the sister for chauffering services!
Had a good ride on Sunday morning with pleasant surprises at Longhouse because there were many familiar faces! :) Then some driving around, with me ending up at Jiwen's house to watch finish Titanic which we last watched, hmm to be exact, on 24th Jan. Headed down to YMS to hear Jw's sis sing during her recital. I thought the entire performance was really so.................... touching..... (awwwwwwwwwww) And the tutor's voice is so.... AMAZING! Had dinner with their family at this pretty cool place just opposite and almost knocked down a million Indian men driving through Little India afterward.
Long ride to the east on Monday with the company of the professional. Thank goodness for him! I almost died.
And so the rest of the week has passed by pretty quick. With MaNY a happy moment :)
Today I had another ride in the rain. Pretty bad because it was coupled with STRONG WINDS! And I was choinging for my life. Had Buffet #2 at Sakura International Buffet with the OCBC guys! It's actually pretty good! Durian............... Oooooooooo :) Thank you sister for the treat! And for driving us / me around always! And for random things like pumping my wheels and washing my bike every other time!
THANK YOU JIWEN for helping with the bike wash! For helping me with the bike everywhere! For carrying it in the rain for me! For changing the brake pads and all! For EVERYTHING!
And to Daniel! For the lending of the van, AND the wheels! And to Indra for checking up on the bike!
It looks, REALLY cool now! I'm so excited to try it out!! Please don't rain tomorrow!!!!!
AND I GOT SOME NEW KIT! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH :) :) :)
Everyone's so nice to me.
I am very grateful................
So............ Buffet #3 tmr? and then #4 on Sunday after the race? All in the name of carbo loading.
As much as all athletes look forward to taper week, I'm getting quite sick of this. Training's nicer! And I don't like all the eating!
I still feel very sick in the stomach thinking about Sunday!
*gulp
Okay, cheers to happier days ahead one and all! :)

Isn't it funny, the way things are.
I could sit there all day, it will be MORE than enough.
Turn the frown upside down, perma smile? Oh? :)
Just take it all in, a happy sigh, a melting heart.
Stretch out the hand, so near yet so far
Brain stops working, could you repeat? it didnt process!
Random chatter, procrastination at play
A goodbye hug, till we meet again
:)
And so begs the question:
WHERE is the rainbow?
And a friend commented "Why are you so excited"
Maybe........ It's time to grow up
It feels so bad,
like I'm dying inside.
I'm tired of thinking;
Semi-dazed state
Goodbye folks
heave a big sigh?
First and foremost, PRAISE THE LORD for keeping my two most favourite cyclists safe and sound during all the races!
Well, it all started during tHAT Thailand trip. Before that I had NO CLUE whatsoever about cycling!
And so this week, what a week! Learnt much about bike racing. The names, the teams, how a race works.......... After watching and reading EVERYTHING to do with LTdL!
And then, thank God I didn't have to make the decision which I knew I would make albeit not THAT willingly hehe. And so, trip cancelled means RIDING WITH THE PROS!
Oh my goodness! It was one looonnnnggg day. We (Passione) were suppose to meet 9am at the YCK-Jln Kayu junction. So that means to take my own sweet time, I left at 8.20am and crawled there. With about 10mins to spare. So we rode together down to Conrad hotel and reached slightly before 9.45am. Hung around and watched more pros gather. Travis Meyer! And Jiwen's Geumsan Ginseng! And ISD! Footon! etc etc etc...
VERY EXCITING! Especially so since I only heard about all these teams and such just THIS VERY EXCITING LANGKAWI WEEK!
So we set off at 10am, following the second group consisting of the Korean boys, ISD, Fuji asia, Footon, velo-something? and cant rem the rest. There was a car in front of us. The first group was ocbc and the sister :( So I was left alone! Thank goodness for Cass! And there was Deanna too! And then that guy started chatting up Cass. So funny! It was really slow and easy all the way. We went through CBD, Keppel flyover, Westcoast Highway, pass NTU, LCK, Neo Tiew, Woodlands Road, Bukit Timah and straight back to Conrad.
It was UBER COOL to ride easy, seeing all those familiar looking cool jerseys! So hard to believe! It makes me feel a little closer to Jiwen. How HE rides with all these toooooooo :) :) :) So cool to ride with a vehicle around too! And then the whole pack was weaving through heavy traffic around the BKT Timah heading back direction. It was really cool cuz everybody balances so well, weaving away, I felt so..... SAFE. Like I don't have to be SO alert to jam brake any moment cuz somebody in front idunnowhat. And everybody slows down and just split into the nearest lane to weave through. And everybody gives way without having to come off the bike. I was trying my best to not do stupid things and according to my own standards, I think I PASSED hehehhe :)
By the time I reached home, it was 1.30pm. A very HUNGRY ME. I didn't bring food! 3.5hrs of riding 105km. Slow though BUTttttttttttttt :) :) :)
And today was OCBC Cycle Singapore! I thought I left a little late. At 10.57am to be exact. So, I think I took the fastest record EVER to get to the F1 pit. To catch them going round their last round of the 50km at the floating platform.
Then watched the Pro Crit for 1hr45min, sis' race for 50min, Open crit for 1hr+3rounds. All the way, leaving only at 5+! What a day of watching bike racing! SO EXCITING! The pro crit was really funny. That guy who asked for Cass' number and added her on facebook was actually at the back and nodded and smiled to Cass when we were watching! I mean, during a race?! HAHHAHAHAHA! Cass is soooo cute. And so, I TOOK A PIC with Shinichi, Cass, and this other Geumsan guy. He was the one that Cass went "anyohasaeyo" the day before and he said he's not Korean. HAHHAHA. He's Jap! But he's really nice! Cuz he nodded and smiled to me! And then we were trying to hide her from that Fuji guy. HAHA.
Really fun day of watching racing and good company of bike friends!
AND CONGRATS TO THE SIS for winning everything hahhahahaa.
I took as fast a record to get home. Because I wanted to get home and the legs felt poweful and, well, maybe one whole afternoon of watching legs go by pushing hard has some effect? Haha.......
Now, after two whole days, I actually, HAVE TAN LINES I KID YOU NOT.
But, fret not, they'll all be gone (I hope!) after a few days in the pool!
TOMORROW! :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
And now, after watching all the races,
it's,
TIME
TO
RACE
Apprehensive, really!

Hehehe
While waiting for the shuttle bus which didn't seem to be coming, I was reading the Women's Triathlete book which I was about to return at NIE library. On the topic of motivation, some tips included, positive self talk! Think positive! Such as "I'm a machine!" "I'm fast!"
Self-talk! Something I do, oh so often! But the machine thing sure made me grin so much to myself! They should've included: I'm a monster! I'm faster than a guy!
That's my wish: To evolve into monstrosity!
One of my favourite self-talk is: It's all in the mind!
After a whole day of resting, the tempo run was only done half way when it rained on me, like again! What a waste! I was really about to NOT do my attempt #2 this morning. Because I hate running in the morning. If it wasn't for the air outside feeling cool, and me feeling so HOT, I probably would've not! Okay, mostly because I couldn't think of an alternative day to do it. And so self-talk #2: What must be done, must be done. Don't think, JUST DO IT.
I was well-pleased that I finished them though! But I'm sweating like a guy :( SEriously, pouring like a tap. Can anyone tell me WHY! My whole jersey was soaked, like, S-O-A-K-E-D! Yuck.
And so since today is movie day, and I'm actually just feeling lazy, the plan is to finish up Open Season 1 AND 2, while spinning in the air con room hehehhehehhee
OH! ANd! That day on the MRT, there's this place between Lakeside and JE, where the opposite MRT was going by. And since we were approaching the traffic light / station, my train was slowing down. AND SO AT LONG LAST, I got that weird experience, of feeling like I'm NOT moving, when I aM!
Hmmm well it's always easier than trying to get the "I'm moving when actually I'm not" feeling.
But after watching the clouds and trying for so long, well, :)
Randomly yours,
Jocelyn
And YOU ask, "How are you??????????????"
(I copied paste bytheway hehe)
So, here goes!
Trainings have been, GOOD! Revised training plan: One hard session of something everyday, with more emphasis on my poor running legs which hasn't been treated very well by the swimming arms and cycling butt.
The wonders of adequate rest, proper meals, awesome weather and mentality. The run was pretty amazing yesterday. Reluctantly headed to the pool for bi training just for a 45min dip in the pool. The remnants of anti-fog-ed goggles from Waikiki is such a joy! Clear? Oh, VERY!
Today's swim was a little confusing. Why aren't the arms tired after the mileage? Did I push hard enough.... Hmmmmmm... People who don't wear goggles should NOT come near me. China men really smell bad. I'm not being biased, but they......... SMELL! And it sucks when they're just BESIDE me, and I'm dying of lack of oxygen (doing intervals see). And all the air I can breathe in is......... THAT. It was crowded at the pool, being recess week.
Many people! I met Michel! Eileen, and Rod, and Zhiyong from hall 3. Oh Michel was really nice! Last night, he talked to me abt how to improve my stroke again hehe. But I think my arm no power. And today, we spent a really long time talking! I don't actually like ppl to disturb me during my swim till AFTER i'm done. But he was nice enough to find out when I'm done with my sets!
He asked me to tell him when I'm swimming next week so he will join! AND he said he might bring some programmes that I can do! SO COOL! IF ONLY this happened earlier!! Mr Netherlands National Swimmer! Ooooooooh. Really funny that he stays at Kallang and runs the Park Connector area to my place! And he swims at Kallang Basin too! My favourite ulu pool. Singapore, is really, SMALL. And he's attempting to aim for European level swimming again while studying Masters in USA! Oh, he did his first triathlon at age TWELVE.........................
Came back to hall to check out on the race! Bathed, 20mins nap, time to prepare for the ride. So, many thanks to Rod for the company! I was pleased because I didn't draft about 90% of the time! So that being my long Wednesday ride replacement (resting legs for a good run), I am pretty pleased. We went via Old Choa Chu Kang, Brickland Road, Bukit Batok, Woodlands Rd, Mandai, Yishun, Seletar, Jalan Kayu, Yio Chu Kang, through the land of Monkeys (3 bigggg families today!), back through Mandai where the skies opened, and it POURED, so bad, we stopped at Shell station. Drizzle till Kranji where it cleared, and at Neo Tiew all the way back, it was open heavens. Haven't been drenched like that since......... last year!
Came back, stood at the comp to check out the race results and updates (too excited!) without realising I could actually drip such a BIG puddle of water! Room in messy state. Then, I made my bike pee. It was, one lonnnngggg pee. Bike cleaning ensued.
Good ride. I felt good.
Now, the mentality is all hills are GOOD. You gym? No. (I should but it's a little too late) Therefore, hills = GYM TRAINING. With that, it makes pushing up hills, both running and cycling, a little more bearable. It's all in the mind.
Well, the cycling still wasn't that good, but yesterday's run, I was soooo proud (of myself) that I pushed ALL HILLS for ALL 3 ROUNDS OKAY! No wonder I was drowning in the pool afterward.
And...............
I haven't been doing anything else besides resting and training.
BAD BAD BAD!
Two sharings:
1) While riding, there was something in my eye. And you know how irritating and painful that can get because of the contacts. The VERY MOMENT I prayed, it went away!
2) I was initially pretty irritated I got my thing like twice in a month a few months back. But then, with the "new" timing in the month, I was counting that, it would fall on the week before all the races started. Which it did! Which is a very good thing! Especially so since all races involve, SWIMMING.
3) On behalf of Mr urm... Ginseng? Thank God his saddle only dropped off (yes it actually did!) AFTER crossing the finish line :)
My God is so amazing isn't it? Such a blessing, to be HIS CHILD :)
Looking forward to SATURDAY! It being a rest day! Rest days are ALWAYS GOOD! And then, it's MONDAY! Jiwen is coming back! Jiwen-coming-back days are ALWAYS GOOD! :)
When the tank runs low, it's always good to read your words
Today, being a recess week Monday, is even busier than if it was normal school week!
I am eating lunch only now (ahhh food rocks), and getting all excited waiting for more news from the Live SMS Updates on the race! I am more excited about this race than over like Tour de France or something because because because.......
MY FAVOURITE MALE CYCLIST IS RACING!
Go go go!
Why up so early you ask?
Because I was printing my assignment! Gotta hand in by 10am AND I gotta be at JE to teach my kids at 9.15am. So................ Off to an early start!
