It is almost the end of February! YIPPPEEEEE!
I didn't get the rejection email for the internship yet, but neither have I heard any news and my conclusion is that I'm probably on the back-up list. But I've another phone interview this weekend so........ What are God's plans for me? I wanna know..... NOW! Patience patience patience..............
AHHHHHHHHH WENNIE IS IN THE BREAKAWAY!!!!!!!
There goes my sleep tonight until the break gets caught.......
5 more days, I'm so excited!
Preparations for the 6 pianos concert (on this Friday) went underway in PDT's green room today. We had full use of the entire hall so, I played the Steinway concert grand on stage today.
I think I've changed quite some coming here.
For one, I'm a lot TUBBIER, I haven't swam for 2.5 months.
But I think I'm a lot more decisive, relatively.
And I'm more daring to try out new things.
And I'm more confident, not caring about what others think as much.
BUT, I still catch myself skipping and jumping around.
And sometimes the jiggles too.
I think if I'm my friend, I would think I'm rather weird....................
Tomorrow's gonna be a looonnnnnggggggg day and I wouldn't be having much sleeep ackkkkk!
GO WENNIE GO!! 9 MINUTES!!

The Heat is ON!
Thursday, February 21, 2013
10:47:00 am
So I wish..... While LTdL has JUST started, it sure feels freezing cold here in my room such that I'm wearing my scarf and am contemplating wearing gloves! Why so cold!
Ok I tried, can't type with thick gloves on! I think I'd enjoy/appreciate the muggy heat when I'm back. Can't wait! I wonder what's the outcome for Tanglewood....
So today I discovered what drives me nuts, way more than a soprano or a trumpet or saxophone or clarinet. IT'S SOMEBODY PLAYING SCALES AND ARPEGGIOS SLOWLY. Like grade 1 slow. And playing it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over. And then some cheesy grade 1 song. On a piano whose sound is utterly disgusting (the young changs). I mean COME ON, the ENTIRE CORRIDOR IS EMPTY! WHY CHOOSE THE PIANO NEXT DOOR TO MINE! I almost went crazy in the room. After 15 minutes, I gave up and went next door to tune the next piano. After I was done, and went back, she was still there! I finished it up, went down for lunch, came back, she was still there.................................................
The only good thing was that, the piano actually sounded pretty okay in terms of tuning. And seeing as how I last touched it last week - not too bad! But oh boy................... I'd rather have a corridor filled with noise than silence and a single piano playing repeated slow arpeggios..............
12 more days... oh come on!
These days I've been on Jeremiah and I think it's one of my favourite books in the Bible!
Jeremiah 10:23-24
I know, Lord, that our lives are not our own. We are not able to plan our own course. So correct me, Lord, but please be gentle. Do not correct me in anger, for I would die.
Jeremiah 17:5-10
This is what the Lord says:
"Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans,
who rely on human strength
and turn their hearts away from the Lord.
They are like stunted shrubs in the desert,
with no hope for the future.
They will live in the barren wilderness,
in an uninhabited salty land.
But blessed are those who trust in the Lord
and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.
They are like trees planted along a river bank,
with roots that reach deep into the water.
Such trees are not bothered by the heat
or worried by long months of drought.
Their leaves stay green
and they never stop producing fruit.
The human heart is the most deceitful of all things,
and desperately wicked.
Who really knows how bad it is?
But I, the Lord, search all hearts
and examine secret motives.
I give all people their due rewards,
according to what their actions deserve."

Happy

Happy is when it's 3 weeks till I see my happiest of happies!
Happy is when I will be eating GOOD fish and chips (all you can eat Tuesday deal and the price is cheaper than the cheapest fish and chips!) tomorrow!
Happy is when I will be heading to Detroit on Wednesday and eat some yummy hamburger in US Stephen says I have to try!
Happy is when it's the last week of school before the one week break where I'll be cooking green bean soup, laksa, prawn mee/hokkien mee, making my ice longan, tom yum soup and fishballs! Hmmmmm
Mood is rather chipper as you can see.
T'was a pretty good day. Tuning wasn't that bad (I only did 3 pianos - gave myself a break after school since I worked my ass off the last few weeks and even tuned yesterday!). And the afternoon was fun because we had two groups of people (little boys and their families - ha-ha) visiting. Good afternoon where all our hard work paid off because GUESS WHAT - WE ARE NOW ON PAR WITH THE REST OF THE CLASS AFTER DOING LIKE TWICE THE AMOUNT OF WORK! Our piano's looking pretty good and I'm VERY happy because the case of the missing flange was solved! And we're bushing keys tomorrow, I LIKE! Steve and me are so happy and I think we deserve a "most hard working" medal!
I love how the sun is setting a little later everyday and when I leave in May, it's gonna be setting close to 9pm! Today when I was walking back, the weather was REALLY nice, with some pretty strong breeze which wasn't the cold kind, so I enjoyed it. Apparently that was a 1 degree wind blow. 1 degree is now, warm. HAHA.
As much as I miss home, today is the kinda day where I'm hoping to get the internship.
Leaving it all in God's hands!

Snow

 |
| Side entrance to my place |
 |
| See the water freezing as it falls down at the bridge connecting the two buildings? |
 |
| Side view of snow on the sides of the sidewalk. Didn't want my shoe buried in but as you can see, it's thick. |
Soft fluffy snow! Nice because it just falls right off my shoe!
It's been some crazy long days, 8am everyday and only leaving no earlier than 7pm and it's busy from the get go. No break this weekend, working full days today and tomorrow too. Seems so long ago when we had that breather and it's only been 4 days? I'm getting rather tired. A break would be good, home would be good. I kinda just wanna get home and get on with life and ride my bike(s).
Looking forward to fish and chips again on Tuesday! Yippeeee! Stephen is THE BEST!

My hands are soooooo sore from all the scrubbing rubbing cleaning. Don't like this part of removing felt and the like! These have been some long days. 11 more days of school till reading week break! Go go go!
