And oh my soul so weary.........
When troubles come and my heart burdened be...
For some reason this song started off in my head.
And so the counter stands at 7 MORE SCHOOL WEEKS.
I kinda "died" again today. (I need to stop doing this!)
6 more weekends to survive hey.
And so I went to read my little diary of days gone by, private thoughts and feelings from way back at the start of 2009 and boy... the memories! Quite ticklishly funny actually! But... good days those were, good days....
The sun sets way too early now. It's already almost dark out!
Hurricane Sandy coming tomorrow!
Will update more about the past week or two another time.
Till then, have a great week everybody!

Are here to stay?
It's been a while since I was here and I've been pretty busy!
My first Thanksgiving week here in Canada last weekend. Had a mini party at Mike's place on Saturday where his boyfriend cooked Indian curry which was superb! There was so much food, and leftovers, everyone had a huge take-home party bag haha. The desserts were amazing too! Good fun, good food, great company but it was really late by the time I got home and boy was I tired..
 |
| First time in London that I was above ground level higher than 3 stories (Mike's place is on the 9th) |
 |
| THEO! With his favourite toy |
 |
| "Please can I have some food?" Makes me feel so bad for eating! |
 |
| Gibson Park |
 |
| Nice, wide, empty stretch I like :) |
 |
| Bright red trees with Western's castle |
 |
| View from one of our 3 windows in the shop |
 |
| Right outside the Music Building |
 |
| Sunday's IESC Thanksgiving dinner - not too bad! |
First time tasting the Turkey - t'was good I must say! Best part of the meal, apart from dessert of course. Monday (actual Thanksgiving), I had mid afternoon dinner with the house owners. Absolutely great Turkey and desserts! Now I know what Canadian Thanksgiving is like!
I was utterly stoned in class on Tuesday morning............. Had my first solo performance for the singing class. Didn't go toooo badly although I was a little out-of-tune. The link to the sound my voice produces and what's in my head is rather.... rusty.....
Wednesday, I was taken on a little outing to COSTCO! The most wonderful place on earth! It's like a large place that sells things in bulk at warehouse prices! Look at what I got!
HUGE! For the price of CAD5.79!!!! What a steal!! Entry is by membership only, and they have like little booths all over giving out free samples... Oooooooo........ And the hot food place sells a LARGE hotdog and a drink for CAD1.50. Then to make Nanaimo bars - best thing ever!
We had our bake sale on Friday which was pretty successful but tiring. Good fun though and we're doing it again every Friday! People are really supportive and our food was awesome!
Look what I saw sitting beside the bicycle lots outside the music building!
 |
| Leila wanted to pose - this is the mini guillotine which we use to cut our felts.. Really useful and cute considering each felt piece has to be cut 88 times to the same length.... |
The weekend was spent practising because we had a tuning test on Monday after which they spoke with us one-to-one which didn't go too badly.
Yesterday, not for the first time, I sliced my finger with the razor blade. I WILL NOT MAKE GLUE STICKS THIS WAY EVER AGAIN! My bad, I was stupid. But this cut was really scary because it was a LARGE slice and the blood just kept pouring......
Today we had a fire drill and had to stand outside in my shirt and jeans (no jacket!) in the little drizzly rain! Thank goodness for the relatively warm weather this morning of 11 degrees.... Then we had our little Wednesday drive to find PIZZA HUT! Yummy! They have this pizza where the crust has a sausage through it! Instead of cheese.... Didn't try it though but you could order a large pizza with two different toppings, in halves! We went all the way to White Oaks, that's really far out and I've always wanted to go there, it's huge! Visited Petsmart to buy kitty supplies for Anne. No rabbits there :( And then to Costco again! Bought a giant box of 48 Quaker bars for CAD11.99, which means it's about 20 cents for each bar. How awesome!
The weather was soooo lovely today, 18 degrees in the afternoon! When it was like -1 in the mornings over Thanksgiving week. Crazy fall weather. Went for a run in the park and I didn't even mind the flies! Miss running outdoors. Have been on the treadmill in the gym where I watch the TVs and get updated on Canadian news. The leaves are now bright yellow!
So I'm well on track with my diet and I'm a happy girl! And I can't wait to see Anne's kitty tomorrow!

Yup I shouldn't have done that.
Was looking through old pictures on facebook.
I think my favouritest year ever is the last year of NTU. Good times those were, good times! :) The swim team, the bi team, hall times, swim run cycle hmmmmm!
The clock which dropped and started ticking backwards. So we (sis and me) made a new clock face! She drew, I made the numbers (printed) and drew the bird. So long ago!
Now I will STOP thinking about home...............
Happy Thanksgiving weekend!

They DON'T agree with me,
AT ALL...................................................
What's up bebe?
I thank God every day, for His unending love for me, especially when I'm so far away from home!
Life's been good. Last weekend, I hit an all-time low. Yesterday, was one of the most horrible school-days. But today picked up again, I'm all back to normal! I have suddenly found myself unconsciously bouncing and jiggling around for the first time since I left................ What is this.................................... Vik was telling me how our manager (who's now senior manager) was saying how her baby jiggles around like me, and she termed it "the jocelyn jiggle"........ So that is what I'm remembered for eh........
Anyway, this is the FIRST time in the 23 years and 10 months (it's the 5th today) of my life that I've been away from Singapore for this long! And the record is being set every single day that goes by, which makes it now 70 days to Christmas break! YIPPEEEEE! So looking forward to Toronto, Krispy Kreme and.............................. BOOGY WOOGY! Honestly, I have yet to feel homesick. I remember when I was a kid going overseas for school trips, after about 3 to 4 days I'll have another 2 to 3 days of this horrible I-really-badly-miss-home feeling. All I miss badly enough is Wennie, but then again it's 70 days! *WHEEEEEEEEE*
But I've planned anyway. When I reach back, it'll be like 12am in the morning. So................. I'll sleep in, wake up, go for a HAPPY ride on my bike! Hopefully I don't forget to unclip and have unglam topples. Then go to eat prata on Mr Beep, with lots of curry! The next day, I'll ride Mr Beep home to regulate/clean up/tune my piano! Wooohooooo! Then I'll worry about how I'm going to get employed.
Seems like the nice weather is over. Temperatures are dropping, days are shortening, leaves are changing colours! I'm planning to head to the park for a run tomorrow (if it doesn't rain) and I'll be bringing my hp to take some pretty pictures! Hope the ducks are out! It's going to be my first Thanksgiving ever and it seems temperatures are forecasted to drop to 2 degrees! Oooooooo...
Remember I mentioned the Metro pizza deal? This 16 inch $6.99 pizza lasted me for 5 very full and satisfying meals! Smug smug. AND the gala apples were on sale (I bought 10). They cost 50 cents each and are much larger than Singapore's! As sweet as the sweet ones too :) And so because I feel happy today, it's the long weekend and it's been a long week, I'm going to eat Ben & Jerry's that I bought at $3.99 for a tub. Was thinking about eating from the tub since I don't have anything to put it in hmmm................
It's been a looonnnnggggggg week and my fingers and nails are feeling sore and hurting much, from sandpapering, getting cut with the xacto blades, holding those small things, and whacking that dratted Steinway grand to get the pins to stay..................
Picture time!
 |
| Anne (our instructor's) dog. She's huge, and soooooo docile! And obedient! Oh, I patted the kitty at home today. She kept mewing! |
 |
| Accident at the junction of Western and Sarnia on my way home the other day |
 |
| THE MOST AMAZING DEVICE EVER! It's a swimming costume water extractor! Saw someone using it while I was blowing my hair. SO AWESOME! Gone are the days of drying my costume with my hairdryer at home :) |
 |
| Nanaimo - THE dessert of Western Canada, made my Stephen. UBER YUMMY! We're making this for our fund-raising sale and I'm going over to Stephen's place to help him on Wednesday! Learn the secrets of his recipe!! |
 |
| The kettle. One forgets how hot steam gets. |
 |
| The Scream - Simpson style teehee |
 |
| Combination lock cutter! Amazing tool to have! |
 |
| Pumpkin pile outside Metro |
 |
| The leaves are changing! - on my way home today |
What I've learnt this week - patience, hard work and I gotta use my brains a little more in relation to the arts and crafts area. It ain't so bad yeahhhh......................... :)
