Glory to God and Him and Him alone! :)
No other words can describe miracles. I serve a God who is BOUNDLESS IN ALL HE IS AND DOES :)
This morning, sis woke me up at 5.20am saying "Time to get up already". My first reaction was "huh for what". And then about 5s later, I remembered, (with a dread) it's time to wake up and go for SING BI :( Still feeling tired and lazy but a little bit excited.
Reached there to register, get marked with nicely printed chops, settled race belt, and then headed over to transition area. Pretty efficient since we were relatively early so it was relatively empty and the queues were short.
2037! My transition box!
Thanks to sis for all the tips and the intro to transition-ing and what to expect :)
Went for a short warm up jog with sis. Was a little nervous shin will start acting up. Haven't ran since Monday! Did not have time to warm up in the sea at all. Was in the front starting line behind sis and the rest.
Almost drowned in the first part. Drank 2 mouthfuls of water (in all. And it was all at the front!) Seriously almost drowned. It was terrible. Till I managed to get out. *Phew. So relieved. I was even GLAD that I could SWIM in the sea! Imagine.
I think I was with Bekky all the while! Didn't quite recognise her cuz she wasn't wearing her usual orange goggles but apparently she was right behind me when we came out from transition! So I think it's her all the while! It looked like her calm swimming strokes which made me calm down whenever I see her and stop splashing around too much. Sea water wasn't all THAT bad after all :) No sea bug bites! Or at least that was the least of my worries.
Alot of new experiences. Like the runrunrun, jump, SWIM! body of water to wash ur feet, transiting (which I did fairly quick in fact!) and getting used to running after the swim. Thank goodness for the adrenaline which left my shin not hurting :) [according to sis and the nervous system explanation]
So I left transitioning with bekky! 1km to the end then U-turn. Met sis, and she told me "hurry up top 10!" Bekky left me before that, and so hearing that I was like woah okay stop jogging, time to run. It felt good to run just in your swimming costume! Your legs feel so free, and seriously speaking, I didn't quite care about looking so exposed anymore haha. Least of my worries.
The run was actually pretty quick AFTER ALL :) Thank God for the strength and I guess the past few months base didn't disappoint me! 4km up (6km in total) till the next U-turn point. Where I started counting, I was then, no. 8! Running in the rain was the best thing that happened. Altho it was quite irritating with rain getting in my eyes (contacts and all) but it was really refreshing and made me feel cool and relaxed! Bekky was way ahead for most part of the race but was again within sight nearing the end. I was just 10+ seconds behind her! Which to me, is a great achievement. Either that, or she wasn't going very fast, considering we started the run together.
Actually, the entire thing ended very quickly.
AND YAY! I DID IT!
my FIRST biathlon, getting 8th position, timing of 1hr16min53s! :)

I wonder wad's my run timing. Cuz I remembered nearing the shore I heard the horn for the opening of a wave. So it should be the 8am wave. Which means my swim took up more than 30mins. Doing the math, hmmmm.......
SO! We went for tiger balm oil massage! My first ever massage. Thank goodness I didn't scream the whole tent down. It wasn't THAT bad as I feared a sports massage would be! It was pretty good anyway. Except when they rubbed the (very muscle knotted) calves and THE SHIN. I was secretly cringing inside. "Relax relax relax!" drumming into my head. But I felt more sore AFTER the massage than before (which wasn't sore at all).
Drank h2o while walking back which was a bad decision cuz my stomach started being queasy and topsy turvy again where I then felt like crawling into a ball and rolling on the floor. (It rhymes!)
Warm down jog failed miserably cuz of the churning insides. Got to know new ppl. Took pics with cool ppl. Went for a shower, and feeling nice and fresh, met the ntu ppl. For the second year running, it rained during sing bi, and I collected goodie bags for the cool prize winners wahhaa. Took some pics with the ntu friends!
Team Challenge PARTNER! :)

Then, went to watch sis get her prize and collected mine too!

I got $50 cash, a timex watch, $80 Smith optics voucher, $50 Royal Sporting House voucher :)
Went to eat with dad and sis at some random coffee shop along the Katong stretch. The milo was SUPER NICE, thick and GOOD like milo van milo! So good such that I bought another one after the first drink. My stomach was churning.
And I concluded the tiger balm thingy ATTRACTS FLIES. Serious. For the rest of the day, (cuz the shower didnt quite wash it properly) flies kept going to my LEGS. Nowhere else but my legs.
It was really nice to take a ride through the east area. I realise I haven't been to the Eunos, Marine Parade, Katong, Parkway, Tanjong Katong area for EONS! I saw this road near Haig Rd, which reads 'Thiam Siew Rd' which I found hilarious!
One more week. AB112 graded presentation. AA205 20% project due. AC208 individual assignment due on Friday. IVP bi on Sat.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
