I finished my freaking 10 sets yesterday! I feel a little achey today! :) Sis and me hid in the room during fire drill haha. The wounds are healing nicely! And I had a shot at giving sports massage wahaha.
First, I didn't cycle for 2 weeks.
Then, I didn't run for 2 weeks.
Now, I can't swim for 2 weeks! :(
Went for a talk after 4hrs of class. (On a side note, cheers to our aa203 for getting only 2 wrong! wahaha) "The Global Economic Crisis and Moral Changes" by Prof Arthur Kleinman. Was just interested in going for these sort of talks cuz it's nice to ppl-watch. Well, my ex-roomie was the one who first convinced me to go, and ps-ed in the end! Tsk haha.
Well, it was pretty cool to see all the dignitaries, big shots, and all the formalities etc. He's a good speaker. I like the way he speaks, pronunciations and all. Cuz he adjusted the mike such that it was pointing to the other side so when he spoke to the other end, you could hardly hear him. And so, the big shots sitting in front went to tell the ladies in charge of the event to go up and tell him but she was like terrified and refused to go up till a second big shot commanded her to just go. And when she told him, he didn't even break his flow of speech and made a joke abt how since young, no one has complained abt his voice being too low. I was really amazed.
He told this story about the glass harmonica and how after the entire performance of Bach's preludes, a small voice said from the back, "play again" and so he said about how honoured he was ppl received it well and so he happily played again. After he was done, the small voice at the back said again, "play again" and the same thing happened, he said he's glad it's well received but he's too tired to play it again, and the voice replied "play again till you get it right".
Guys can't seem to sit still. The one beside me kept shaking and shaking, I was utterly irritated.
Really intrigued with the entire process abt all these kind of big shots and formalities. GoH was Tharman Shanmugaratnm (yes I did refer to the programme book to type that). But not too impressed with how Prof Kwok from NTU conducted the Q&A. (random, but the programme book smells of black pepper)
Jack Sim from World Toilet Organisation was there and he posed a question. (We were just talking abt him that day!)
But I felt this entire thing was just alot of chim words and talk which is pretty pointless. Academics.... Hmmmmmm....
I met two tkgs/tj jnrs who were there since their colleagues couldnt make it but alr signed up for it. I somehow knew they'll stay till the end after the Q&A and all. I don't quite understand how can somebody get up and leave if u're sitting right in the middle. Isn't it very rude to the speakers. LKC is not a very big venue.
My sister's in SHAPE magazine!
But I can't seem to upload the pic here. (I think it's too big)
So here's a pic of my stitches instead
