FIVE MORE DAYS!
And so our plans to take off failed when Amerlyn said: "oh no we organised a farewell lunch for u all on friday!" :( :( :(
There goes, FIVE more full days sobs sobs sobs :(
Saturday was a sad sad day cuz I had no ride :(
And swimming training left me really very siann.
For many reasons. Ayeeee.
Had 3 kids in the afternoon where I threw my temper at Hannah. Really couldn't take it and just kp-ed her.
Church at PL was good! Pastor Wilson preached an interesting sermon. Although this month is family month and all the sermons are like family-oriented which left me feeling very siann, but still it was interesting yesterday's. He preached from Genesis 3, about the serpent tempting Eve. Let me just put this down.
How, in Genesis, the Hebrew text uses the Hebrew word "Yahweh" which refers to God as the Creator. But when the serpent spoke to Eve, it used the another word which just means a divine being. The start of this craftiness into luring Eve into sin. And when she replied the serpent, she used the word divine being as well.
It's true that the fruit makes one know about the knowledge of good and evil, but the serpent did not finish the story. By knowing good and evil, death comes in the picture, and we will die. The serpent painted God as a selfish one, one who seems to be afraid that we will overpower him or something. But of course, us knowing good and evil was never in God's plans for us. This made me think abt the saying "ignorance is bliss" haa.
Another funny thing was, the serpent said in verse 4 that 'you will be like God'. But the thing is, God created us in His image, we were created to BE LIKE GOD. We were created to reflect His glory. So we didnt need to eat it just to be like Him!
And also altho it was Eve who had this whole conversation, Adam was with her all the while and probably gave his approval/never stopped the conversation! And how when God came to find them in the garden that day (He came to fellowship with them everyday) they just passed the blame to the next person, without even feeling sorry for sinning. How, human, this is.
The passage, courtesy of biblegateway.com,
Genesis chapter 3
1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God really say, 'You must not eat from any tree in the garden'?"
2 The woman said to the serpent, "We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, 3 but God did say, 'You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.' "
4 "You will not surely die," the serpent said to the woman. 5 "For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."
6 When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. 7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.
8 Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden. 9 But the LORD God called to the man, "Where are you?"
10 He answered, "I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid."
11 And he said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?"
12 The man said, "The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it."
13 Then the LORD God said to the woman, "What is this you have done?"
The woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate."
Anyway after service, headed over to Pasir Ris, where we went for Edmund's 21st party! I ate alot. Good to meet up with everyone again! :)
Home sweet home, late again.
Today, after teaching, I went to nus to cycle some hills. It wasn't that bad as I thought it would be, and I could've gone for more actually. But just for a few seconds after the hardcore pushing, the lactic acid has never been this bad before. Like even after sprinting the 400m and for the first time felt butt muscles in use for running, it never felt like THIS.
Hope I can ride faster after this! More sessions!
And then yummy yummy pasta dinner cooked by mok n sis. Like yummy yummy slurp! Except tt my stomach was kinda small so I was uber full! But super yummmmmyyyyyyyyyyy
SIgh work tmr :( And then the last run.
See somehow it's somewhere in the subconscious, and I guessed as much :(
Bishan stadium having AYG! I think the track will be interestingly crowded this week! :)
Maybe I should watch some events, to get inspiration of sorts.
