Yes, life has been SOOooo busy and happening!
7th December
After settling many things online, I headed to town to meet Marilyn and Han Jie for lunch! It was the FIRST time I'm at Ion Orchard! (Can you imagine!) We ended up eating at some Jap place. Good lunch with good company! :)
AFter that we split up and I headed to Far East Plaza in search of the cross stitch shop. But to no avail :( And then, it was to Heeren to catch this Jap show, Happy Flight. It was not bad. Maybeeee 3.5 stars. The bad thing was that the show was about this pilot, flying a plane, and crashing during the simulation in training. And then a similar situation happening in real life. (Minus the crash) Soooo... It wasn't very comforting to watch since I was gonna go on my trip!
Then I walked around. Passed by Orchard Central and decided to head to the rooftop terrace. My my.... it was really nice! THank goodness for being tall cuz when I stuck my head out over the top, the wind just kept blowing. And so I spent some time there, blowing wind, and just enjoying it all. The evening skies and the setting sun :)
Ran errands like buying the kids books at music essential. Headed to Times in PS to check out on Lonely Planet for Laos. THen met the band peeps at the Cathay. After which we headed to............ TIMBRE!
A really big thank you to all of them! Kevin Mj Qtz Edmund Pam Neem Xt Viv Ms Chew. Thanks for the pleasant surprise, the good company, the most useful gift, and for making me feel special, altho it's like 2 days past. To find out what happened, check out the pics n videos on facebook haha. But I'm really pleasantly surprised and happppyyyy :)
Good company but I returned home feeling REALLY tired from a whole day of being out. Haven't had a day off and out like that since I can't remember when!
8th December
Cycled back to NTU. The winds were really bad. It's the kind of windy mornings in December! Yes, I went a-sailing! (the way Jiwen puts it) It was soooooo strong on the track on the way to Bishan Park. But thank goodness it was much better from lower pierce onwards! I got to school in a RECORD time. 1hr35mins. Oh man. WHO TAKES SO LONG TO GET TO SCHOOL! Terribleeeeee.
Sis came to NTU! So we went to swim! At SRC! And Xianrong joined too! For a little while. Waffle! Yuummmm. Packed my stuffs and headed off with sis! Thought I left my impt thumbdrive behind, only to realise it's in my bag when I went all the way back to get it. So RETARDED.
Sis borrowed books from the library at JE. Really funny. She borrowed a book about this lady who ran around the world. (Really amazing though! She took 5 years, and 50+ pairs of shoes) And she borrowed another book about this person who cycled around the world hahha.
Anyway I then headed to meet the Swim Team at City Hall. We went to Shokudo which is like Marche but Jap style. Not bad. The food was good, and the company nice too.
Reached back pretty late again. Another whole day of being out!
9th December
Woke up in the morning to prepare for the 2 interviews. Deloitte first at 1.15pm. Alighted at Tanjong Pagar. Deloitte's in DBS Building 2. It wasnt till I reached there, and then we were told it's a group interview. And that we'll start at 2 and end in 1half hours. WHen they said in the email it'll only be 1.5hrs. And I had a KPMG interview scheduled at 3.30pm! And so had a hard time trying to contact KPMG to say I'll be late.
Deloitte's interview was in a group of 5, with 3 SMU and 2 NTU. 2 girls, 3 guys. Against 2 AngMohs. One French, one British. Both partners. Myyyy.. were they scary. The questions weren't the toughest, but neither were they easy. They asked about you, about corporate finance, and about general stuff like Singapore and it's economy! It was one hour of torture for me. Glad to be out of there.
Walked down to Hong Leong Building for KPMG interview. It was reallyyyyyyyy nice. The waiting room was so fun. The person I talked to is SO CRAP. Like he's so real, and retarded. Like we were thinking WHY did they put him there to entertain us mannn!
The interview was REALLY nice. The guy who interviewed me is only a Audit Manager so not too scary cuz age gap closer also. He was really nice! It was more like a chat session. And I felt more like a person that they're interested in. For Deloitte, it was quite obvious they haven't even looked at our application! But for KPMG, it was hence a pleasant surprise when he pointed out stuffs from my resume. We talked a lot. About his working life, past and present. And about random stuffs. Such as ppl taking a short nap at the side during Sundown Marathon HAHA. He was sooo nice and even walked me out to the lift! Apparently the others say it's normal but NOT ONCE did I ever have an interviewer who walked me to the lift. Usually they're like so big shot and all.
Anyway I got offered a place there. They called later.
Then I walked to Raffles Place to take MRT home to change and get my ass down to TJ. I took many pictures! Will upload them when I get home. So glad to be back. Although the band room really looks and feels soooo different. I was wondering, so much for the two mirrors in the band room. Remember what they said abt it being there for some superstitious reasons! Haha.
Band prac was coooool! YaoCong and Hanafiz, for all the cool guitar parts you hear in Jap Graf! (Just listen to the openingggg!) Inez BEHIND ME! OOOhhhlala. THe horns! THere was tek xin! AND THE TBONES WERE FULL HOUSE. ALl of them powerhouses were here. Wesley Wan SHan toooo! ANd the saxes were good toooo! SO I was really excited with many sounds here and there! In addition to that being my FIRST BAND PRAC OF THE YEAR. After band, we headed to HK cafe at Siglap and thanks to Edmund for the ride back! Reached back like 11++.
10th December
Soooo tired. STill had to prepare for EY interview. The people there aren't as nice as KP. International tax turns out to be really cool. Like they only have 25 ppl in their team and they're only gonna take in 2 or 3 ppl! 2 females interviewed me. One is a partner from Germany, another a Manager, Singaporean. You should hear about the diversity in the team! It got me so excited. Buuuuttttt... don't think I got accepted cuz they said they'll decide by that night and contact us the nxt day morning. Buttttt no call :( But then again, EY's HR is like how screwed!
The interview was really nice. It was tough but answerable. I think I like interviews actually haha. It I know what to answer that is!
It's really fun to go everywhere and meet all our NTU folks! Haha. It's like a gathering. And talking to them, getting to know them etc. One Raffles Quay is really nice! Hehe. We had an office tour after that.
Although we ended really late like 5pm! So by the time I reached school it was pretty late. Ate the yummy fish ball noodles that day tho!
ANDANDAND, tommmy played drums for jap graf. You should hear the difference immediately. Our conductor is nice. I like him. Like I can tell if he's my age and sitting beside me he'll get excited over the same things. Sitting beside Mingjie is NO FUN. He doesn't get anything I say. And doesn't get excited over the things we normally do. I so miss Xiuyu and Lols to gush over this and that hehe. There're SO MANY nice bass parts I'm like simply ecstatic. YC's sound for this certain part is SOOOOOOoooo nice I always feel so amazed I'm hearing it live coming behind me :)
8 of us squeezed into Gen's car (3 of us girls in the front!) and we headed to Sing Post for supper. Squeezy squeezy! I miss my batchmates. I realllyyyyy enjoyed all the pracs and the company :) AWESOME :)
okay I will update with pics and all about the concert and laos trip soon! I'm at an internet cafe! Anyway, I'm really in love with Jap Graf 14. Just hear all the bass parts!!!!!!!
